Description

Crown Devon large jug with golfing motifs and decorated in a blue glaze. The jug has two quotes: ‘A MISS IS AS GOOD AS A MILE’ AND ‘IF AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED, TRY, TRY AGAIN’. Crown Devon pottery was established in Stoke-on-Trent in the early 1870s but it wasn’t until after the First World War that the pottery started mass producing items. This example is their one known golfing piece. Measures 8 1/2″ high x 7″ wide.
